OCN Level 1 Peer Mentoring for Young People

Qualification will assist learners to understand the role of young people as peer mentors – including boundaries, signposting, role in the community and the advantages of peer mentoring. Understand why peer mentoring is important to young people – including the benefits of a young person working with a peer mentor, the benefits of peer mentoring in the community, the importance of confidentiality in peer mentoring and its limitations. Recognize ways to assess own work with young people in the role of peer mentor – including how to assess your own work as a peer mentor.
