SUCCESS NORTH WEST FUNDED BY

Success Northwest (SNW) is the key project in the Derry Strabane Council area delivering the Shared Prosperity Fund.

SNW is an ambitious, collaborative, consortium approach, with community-based, partners in community hubs providing intensive and tailored interventions to those economically inactive residents.

Based on our highly successful previous ESF funded model over the past 12+ years, the project uses a local community-based model of engagement and recruitment, applying innovative techniques to support economically inactive people. It uses a range of holistic approaches to address barriers and support individuals to secure sustainable, good quality employment outcomes and provides holistic and tailored interventions and relevant training options.

Our project is active through-out the entire Derry and Strabane Council area both urban and rural DEAs. We have eight partner hubs based throughout Council district; they are as follows:

  • Creggan Neighbourhood Partnership
  • Dove House Community Trust
  • Glen Development Initiative
  • Greater Shantallow Area Partnership
  • Waterside Area Partnership
  • Strabane Community Project
  • Women’s Centre Derry
  • Churchtown Community Trust Castlederg

Participants are welcome to access any of our partner hubs and training is delivered in different locations throughout the area, including in person, hybrid and blended approaches to learning and development.

We have 14 Employment and Mentoring Officers (EMOs) based in our partner hubs in local Communities who are experienced in supporting participants in their development and can direct and advise according to participant needs. All hubs are community based with specific understanding of the local area and residents needs. Participants are free to engage with any hub to ensure maximum flexibility and ease of access.

Our Hubs provide a wrap-around holistic service to all participants based on their individual needs, we will complete an initial needs assessment to establish a progression pathway and EMOs will maintain ongoing contact to support, motivate and ensure retention of participants through to successful completion.

Our employment engagement service will work with local employers to establish employment opportunities for participants, to provide bespoke targeted and training options through intensive bootcamps leading to a guaranteed interview. The Programme Manager is Conor Heaney, the Training Manager is Pádraigín Ní Mhaonaigh. Further information on our project can found by contacting conor@successnw.com
