Dementia Awareness

"The non accredited training can be tailored to suit the individual, group, or organisation / business as we try to be as bespoke as we can. For example, recent training with Security Men in the city shopping centres was slightly different to training the 1st year nursing students at Ulster University. Both needed the understanding, but the settings, experiences and situations would differ. In terms of the 3-hour session itself the format includes the following:

• Welcome & introduction.
• Icebreaker
• Immersive experience
• Come walk in the shoes of someone with Dementia - practical activity.
• Behaviours & What does the brain do for me?
• The physical environment & its impact
• Communication - Role play / scenarios relevant to individual / organisation
• Feedback & Questions
• Certificate of attendance endorsed by DEEDS Once we have provided the training as an organisation, we are then in a position should anyone ask to be able to signpost them to the relevant support agencies or get them involved in the DEEDS project itself."
