Qualification is appropriate for new practitioners, providing learners with knowledge in community development values, purpose, collective working, individual roles, community strengths and diversity and inequality issues. This qualification is mapped to the new Community Development National Occupational Standards (NOS). Mandatory unit – Community Development Practice. Additional units understand and engage with communities, understand the purpose and values of community development practice, understand group work and collective action, understand collaborative and cross-sectoral working, be aware of governance and organisational development, know why community learning for social change is important.

Designed to give participants an understanding of what social prescribing is and the benefits of a social prescribing approach in the community. To provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of social prescribing, health inequalities, the medical model of health and the social model of health. Delivered by our specialist social prescribing practitioners. Aimed at those currently working within the social prescribing sector or who would like to work within the sector. Learners would complete the 6 mandatory units - Understand social prescribing; Understand effective communication in social prescribing; Understand the role and responsibility of a social prescriber including the referral process; Understand person centred values in social prescribing; Be aware of the importance of continuing personal development in social prescribing; Understand the importance of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults within social prescribing.
